RTLB learning and support funding
- Educational support, for example assistance to students who need individual support but don’t meet the criteria for other special education initiatives
- Release time for classroom teachers to meet with the RTLB (resource teacher: learning and behaviour)
- Professional development for departments, syndicates and schools to enhance skills in behaviour management or curriculum development
How RTLB learning support funding is allocated and calculated
We calculate RTLB funding using the roll and decile of each school in the cluster.
Attached teacher funding
Attached teacher funding is also provided to cover administration grants and travel grants .
RTLB funding for years 11 to 13 plus
Year 11 to 13 funding provides an opportunity to raise student achievement and to meet local and national education priorities.
The funding is for supporting students in years 11 to 13 who have learning or behaviour difficulties. While it must be used equitably, the funding can be used innovatively.
RTLB staffing entitlement for lead schools in a cluster
We also deliver staffing to the lead schools. We deliver the amount of full-time teacher equivalents (FTTEs) stipulated in their funding and services agreement, plus one FTTE for the cluster manager, and leadership payments calculated with this formula:
- Multiply the number of resource teachers allocated to the school for 2015 by 0.6
- Add 6 to the result
- If the resulting sum is not a whole number:
- round it down to the nearest whole number, if it ends in less than 0.5
- round it up to the nearest whole number, if it ends in 0.5 or greater
