Complaints about education providers

ECE service complaints

Go to Complaints about your early childhood education services on the parents website.

School or related complaints

If you have a complaint about a school

Complaints about related providers (such as Teen Parent Units, Alternative Education providers)

 

Speak to the Principal, then to the Board of Trustees.

If you are not happy with the response from the school, contact your  local office for support.
Or you can contact the Office of the Ombudsman to make a complaint . If your complaint is about a teacher you can contact the Education Council

Statutory Intervention complaints

Complaints can be about a statutory appointee working in a school.  This may be a Specialist Adviser, Limited Statutory Manager or a Commissioner. 

Raise your complaint directly with the statutory appointee first.

If you not happy with the response from the appointee you should contact your local office .

Complaints about other education organisations

Education organisations like New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) Education Review Office (ERO) and Tertiary Education Commission (TEC)

Send your complaint to the relevant organisation first.

If you aren't happy with how they deal with your complaint, contact the Office of the Ombudsman to make a complaint
