Phase 1
Phase 1 ran from 30 May to 10 June, and consisted of face to face public workshops and an online survey.
Update from Gabrielle Wall, facilitator on Phase 1
Thank you to everyone who attended consultation sessions and completed the online survey and for sharing their values, aspirations and ideas with me.
Over the course of the face-to-face workshops, I met with high school students, parents, representatives from ECE, schools and tertiary, and representatives from community and other agencies. Representatives of these groups also contributed to the online survey
Participants spoke and wrote with passion about what they value about the Lincoln area and how they want to see that reflected in education provision. The two strongest themes that have emerged so far are the importance of community, and the importance of being an Envirotown.
There was a strong sense of identifying as a single community or a ‘village’, and a desire that future education provision in the area should reinforce rather than lessen community cohesion.
There was a lot of discussion around being an Envirotown, and how this should be reflected in education provision in the area. This covered buildings and facilities on school sites, as well as the teaching and learning that takes place.
Phase 2
This is when the ideas and themes you generated through this first phase will be shared. We're holding a second week of workshops and a second online survey to find out which options and ideas have a wider base of support. Workshops will again be held at Lincoln High School on these dates:
- Monday 27 June 7 – 8pm
- Tuesday 28 June 6 – 7pm
- Tuesday 28 June 7.30 – 8.30pm
- Friday 1 July 5 – 6pm
Go to the Boundary Road entrance (25 Boundary Road) around to the left of the 2 storey building, and then follow the signs. See where Lincoln High School is on Google Maps.
The second online survey is now live. Go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Lincoln-community-engagement-phase2 to take part. The survey closes on 128 July.
