Preparing your annual report
Boards of trustees are required to prepare an annual report each year. The annual report has to be sent to the school's auditors by 31 March and a copy of the audited report sent to the Ministry of Education by 31 May each year.
Go to the annual reporting circular 2016/12annual reporting circular 2015/09 for checklists for preparing and submitting your annual report .
An annual report must contain:
- Names of board of trustees members and the dates they go out of office.
- The board's annual financial statements and auditor’s report.
- A remuneration statement (to be included in the financial statements).
- A statement of responsibility.
- A statement of how the board has used Kiwisport funding (if applicable).
- A discussion of progress the school has made towards the planned goals and targets for student achievement set out in the annually updated section of its charter (this is your analysis of variance).
