National Administration Guidelines (NAG) reporting consists of:
- NAG2A(b) (commentary on achievement data)
- NAG2A(c) (school level data broken down by specific cohorts).
Your board should use this information to identify students and groups of students that need targeted support to raise their achievement. Your board can then set aims and targets for these students and outline the actions you will take to achieve these in your charter for the following year.
National Standards
For schools with students in Years 1-8 that use The New Zealand Curriculum to set teaching and learning programmes,programmes to report on their National Standards NAG2A(b) and NAG2A(c) information.
National Standards NAG2A(b) commentary
This is a prescribed template and it must be used to report National Standards NAG2A(b) information to the Ministry of Education.

National Standards NAG2A(c) data
Schools that use a Student Management System (SMS) to manage their student achievement information must use their SMS to report their National Standards NAG2A(c) data directly to the Ministry of Education.
For support using your SMS to do this contact your SMS provider .
Schools that do not have an SMS must use the prescribed Excel template to report their National Standards NAG2A(c) data to the Ministry of Education. Before completing the Excel template read these instructions

Ngā Whanaketanga Rumaki Māori NAG2A(b) and NAG2A(c) reporting tool
For kura and schools with students in Years 1-8 that use Te Marautanga o Aotearoa to set their teaching and learning programmes to report on their Ngā Whanaketanga Rumaki Māori NAG2A(b) and NAG2A(c) information.
